In the initial on table warm up it is probably easier if you know where the ball is coming.  This will allow you to get the rhythm of the strokes at a faster pace.  It is also important to do some slow balls to start with so that you get the feel for the ball.

Sorry Alois,

I was talking about the DRILLS. [Because that WOULD NOT be a good idea in the on table warm up.]

If I was wrong, I'm sorry but I don't totally get it!

Ian,

Sorry I misunderstood you.  Yes in the Training Drills you can do that for sure.  It is good to vary the drills slightly to suit your own game.

We try to make the drills as simple as possible to follow but this would be a good variation for the PingSkills Drill and the Lazy Falkenburg Drill.

Hi Ian,

We won't edit it, because it won't suit everybody, but if that suits you then you should edit it for your own plan.

How can I do that?

You can just change it when you are doing the training without writing it down or print it off and write the changes on it.

What you can do is go to the Free Downloads page which you will find at the bottom of our Home Page.  Then go to the Training Plan link.  You can then write your own plans and adjust them.
