Can the serve be made short so that it terminates near the net?

Hi Miguel,
You are allowed to do that. As long as this serve is also low, this is a good serve because it will be short and make it more difficult for your opponent to attack.
It is not easy to make the Wiper serve short. To make it short you need to get under the ball by tilting your bat right back to generate the backspin.
