Strokes and Technique
Hi Alois and Pingskills
in this video

they show two backhand topspins, which is more effective?? the both are a stroke with topspin??
Besides, when i started to learn the forehand topspin off backspin, my coach told me, that the stroke started down and finished up, etc...but in your video lesson of backhand topspin off backspin the stroke is like a backhand topspin off block, and the stroke of wang hao is similar to yours...the backhand topspin off backspin is similar to forehand topspin, from down to up with brush contact or it could be forward but with wrist??
Please Help
Thanks
Hi Cristh,
The more spin there is on the ball the more vertical your stroke can be. However if you have a lot of speed with your swing then you can start to go more forward and hit over the top of the ball.
To start with it is best to go from down to up till you get the contact of the ball correct.

Hi Cristh,
They can both be effective against different types of spin. Faster isn't always better. Variation is important so if you play both of these strokes at different times, you will give your opponent something to think about.
