Equipment
They sell at $90 4-Piece regulation size table online through walmart that has caught my eye. I don't currently own a table. I play mostly at my father-in-law's place during the weekend. I'd like to start practicing at home.
I'd mostly be playing by myself, maybe occasionally with my wife. I'd like to purchase one of those ipongs and a net to help with solo practice.
So this is my reasoning with this extremely cheap MD Sports table: I know it's going to be poor quality, and it is made of 4 parts for the table so there will be a seam. But, i'm mostly going to just be practicing, and the money I save on the table(the next jump up is in the $200-350 range) I can feel better about buying the robot and a net, and a few hundred balls.
Does this seem like a terrible idea? I do have a child to feed so I'm trying not to dump a ton of money into something that is basically just a practice tool in my garage, but I also want to get at least some functional practice.
Hi Jim,
I think it will be OK. It will give you an opportunity to play which you otherwise wouldn't have.
I haven't used one of those tables. The key part is the bounce. If others have used one of these, let us know your thoughts.

Thanks for the reply! I actually went ahead and bought it for about $60 after some sales so we will see after I get it put together if it was a good value for the function I get from it! Love you guys btw. I've been going through all the Ask the Coach episodes on my commute and it's been very educational.

No problems Jim. Hope the table works for you. Sounds like you got a good deal.
Glad that you are liking the Ask the Coach episodes as well. We have a bot of fun doing them too.
