Soft and hard rubber

Hi Alois,

I'm curious about why most pro table tennis players prefer hard rubbers.

I personally prefer soft rubbers on a flexible blade because I can feel the ball on the contact.

When I go to a shop to look for rubbers with pro version, I notice that they all come with hard sponge!

Why is the pro version always hard? Soft rubbers are not suitable for a pro...?

Just want to know.

Thank you

Ittipat

Hi Ittipat,

I think they like the speed of the harder rubber.  Since the banning of speed glue this is the substitute.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
