Hi Alois,

I am a penholder and have noticed that other penholders tend to have different finger positions on the backhand side of their racquet. For example Xu Xin has his fingers straight at the back whereas other penholders have them curled.

What are the advantages and disadvantages (if any) if my fingers are curled or straight?

Hi Kabeer,

The straight fingers are good for more power, the curled fingers allow more use of the wrist.  Xu Xin will change the finger position from time to time when he is playing.
