Hi Nick,

When you play someone with a hard bat you need to consider a few things.  They can't generate their own spin but they can use your spin.  They especially can't generate much topspin with their attacks.  You can be patient with your pushing and attack when you are ready.

When you attack with topspin, the ball will come back flat.  You will need to lift the next ball. Because it doesn't have much topspin on it it will feel like it has backspin on it.

Hard at players will often be defensive players so you can use tactics the same as playing most defensive players.  They will only be able to attack consistently if you give them a fairly high ball.

These small adjustments can make a big difference in your coordination, positioning, and success as a doubles pair.
