Serving
Dear Alois and Jeff, what would be a good serve for me if I have been constantly playing ping pong for around 8 months, and participate in middle school amateur tournaments? Please make simple, and spiny, because I can't do those pendulum things, they are too difficult.
Hi Firas,
I think once you give the Pendulum a try for a while you will get it. However to start with try the simple backspin serve. To do this you brush under the ball. Still make sure you are hitting it from quite high so that you get enough bounce on the table to get it over the net.
What you can do before you even get on the table is aim to get the ball to spin on the ground. So stand somewhere with a clear space of floor in front of you. Thence if you can make the ball urge on the floor. If you can do that then think about trying to get the ball to come back towards you. If you can do these then you are starting to generate some spin on the ball.
