hello sir, On Pingskills.com i hv read that dat the most, most, most important skill in table tennis is consistency to be able to put the ball on table. But how does one draw the line between giving a tight return/start attacking first/short/long/low return and just putting the ball on table without caring abt the quality of return and eventully lose the point as the apponent can easily hit the winner as its not a good return.bcz if we care abt the quality of return we r tend to make mistake and consistency is not going to be there. In other words how can all readers make sure that cosistency and tight return both r there.????After reading it on pingskills,i tried it but i think both cant exist together. I want both no matter what..
Hi Loveleen,
Consistency is used when developing strokes and practicing routines.
As you start to imporve and play matches you need to think about using speed , spin and placement to win points.
Remember these are two different tasks. One is improving strokes and the practice situation, the other is about winning matches.
