I am sure many of us would like to see a match between our two Gurus. Looking forward to it.
Hi Shaji,
Not at this stage...!
you're welcome!
:)
THATS A CRAZY GOOD IDEA! PUT THE MATCH ON THE BLOG!
Oh, we are serious....
Hey guys, did you notive that this question is eligible vor the "video answer vote"? ;-)
Btw, I really don't think it matters who would win this one - but it sure would be great fun to watch!
Keep up the good work - both of you. I really like this site!
Use your "Ma Lin" high backspin serve!
Yes I too would like to see that match so I am going to add my vote to get it up. Cheers.
best. question. ever.
Just noticed I've said that before....4 months ago!
That shows how long this match is overdue... ;-)
it would defenitly be fun to watch
You guyes put thise vote into critical moment... either Alois or Jeff, the result will have great impact on PingSkills.
Let's discuss. If Alois has been coaching for long time (quiting tourment), he is just like a boxing shack. If they both always play against each other, they already know clearly what their opponent is capable of so the smart one with good tactics should win. If we look at Jeff, he has got big body disadvantages him for speed...
Well, headache!!! Anyone wanna add more, go ahead...
its a long time when this question was posted now please we want a match.
i think alois will win he is the coach
and if he loses then y is he still the coach?!
Ashley,
You are completely wrong, its not like all coaches can win all matches, Its totally depends on practice and nature of games which suits your type. Any one can win against coach but its not necessary that winner is really good player than coach. Dont take this personally its truth, what do you guys think?
Thanks,
Rajesh Suhas Sawant
impossible to say. as powerful and coordinated as Jeffs strokes are, aloi's is just as ... violent!
second thoughts i vote for jeff!!
I have to say it would be close. Both of you guys are very good, but I would have to say that Alois has the edge. Maybe Jeff could prove me wrong. What do think?
I have N.O idea who is going to win. I can already feel the presure [and Rajesh, Jeff isin't overweighted] :-) P.S: Thanks Claus for this smile :]
Yes, This will really be a great match. Since Alois and Jeff both know each others weakness, it will definitely be a great match.
And the best part is, At the end of the match you guys can add your thinking before each shot, so that will definitely other members to rethink before they play a person who knows all their weaknesses.
And obviously, its just a match, someone has to loose which cannot be averted. So, play it and please upload it, so that everyone else can take a lesson from it.

oh come on at least tell us how much ul have played, and who has won more??? im sure u guys have played games....
I WANT A MATCH AND I WANT IT NOW!
Well, I think Alois has good chances with his service-receive play and he can dominate his enemies with that. And Jeff should try to counter the spin at the serve and make an agressive stroke with much spin at the middle of Alois' body. But I think the coach would win.Sorry Jeff! :-)
ALOIS! ALOIS! ALOIS!
Jeff, Jeff, Jeff!
:DD
MATCH MATCH MATCH!!
MATCH MATCH MATCH!! :))
Please !!!!!!!!!!!!! MATCH MARCH MATCH MATCH :P :P
C'mon guys......you know you want to..:)
MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH!
just do it already
Alois vs. Jeff
a six set match
what do you think alois and jeff
Why 6 sets? I don't think I would last that long.
Yes, there is possibilities of Jeff win the match 4-0.....
\r\n
Just a Joke, i think it would be a long match because you\'re great players....
\r\n
\r\n
MATCH! MATCH! MATCH!
Come on, Alois! Just play 1 match and post it on Youtube. 4 out of 7 sets. It would be amazing!
it would be a great learning experience :)
It's not nesseccary to show who is the winner - just show us some points to see you in action.
Atanas, are you Bulgarian?
Yeah. And I live in Bulgaria.
c'mon alois you two can finish six set matches because alois you are a olympian coach and jeff you are a olympian you guys are used to this
please it will be a good learning opportunities for all pingskillers. Please.
MATCH! MATCH! MATCH! MATCH!
lol, dudes!...its been about a year since we started asking for this, so clearly it isn't gonna happen.
Come on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've got some interesting news. A while back Alois and I were at Ballarat and we played a one set match up to 11 in front of quite a crowd. Luckily we've got the footage recorded on video! I'm going to upload it to YouTube tonight! Once it's up I'll post it on here as a video answer.
olryt we'll finally see the match .... hmmmm i think ill go for jeff in this 1 :))))
if possible can u play again with more sets? :)
wow!!!!!!!...cannot wait!!!!!!!
I think this clears things up once and for all and shows who the better player is.
:)
lol, false advertising! :p
Inventive video... but please, no more!
I think Alois and Jeff are both very skilled, but everyone has their bad days. I think it would be very close. Why not play the best of five on three seperate occasions that way you both have 1in 3 chance of a good day. It also depends on the umpire you get, look at what happened to Ding Ning.???
Brilliant, complete gooses, just the way way life ought to be
lol lol..:D
Oh ! Very fun. Thanks.
Absolutely brilliant defence and sporting style. It doesn't matter who wins the match, entertainment is the keynote. On another note, did you happen to notice that more players are adopting the shake-hand grip in international play as evidenced in the Olympics?
Irregardless, this was very fun and inspirational. I want to play, too. :)
Clearly I was having a bad hair day...
All for Big Fun!

Hi,
Good play...You both just got me a kindly laugh !
haha I love the way you make table tennis even funnier
What a video, Alois you had me cracking up! Loved your serves Sir :D
That was brilliant, loads of fun and a lot to learn, even when you're not serious, you both show how seriously good you are! Congratulations on the idea and performance, we want to see more of such events.
alois-vs-jeff
Very Entertaining ! Good Idea !
The 'spit-ball' serve caught me off-guard !
As much fun as the when old Sol Schiff did finger-spin serves in Bronkx, N.Y. way back.
Table Tennis is supposed to be more fun than just bashing the ball !
Very good
Here in the States - we have a basketball group called the Harlem Globtrotters and they are fun and really pull out of the audience lots of laughts - Just like I did watching you two do the things you did. Thanks for the laughs and I'll be sharing this with my friends!
Great idea !!
Who is the best ? It's difficult to answer at this question for the moment.
FRUMOS !! RUMANIA.
i think that you people are really bad im 12 years old with chunli as my coach, shes a female that can beat u people
U guys should have played seriously
there was only three things in that video Entertainment, entertainment and entertainment.
It's the ultimate compliment to the coach when the student surpasses him.
If Alois and Jeff for some reason do not want to play a serious match against each other, what about showing us a few real matches where each of you plays against other good players?
Have you seen the video of Alois vs Italy? It's on the About Us page.
"A portrait of the artist as a young man", very nice indeed. What about some more contemporary videos of both of you?
Of course, I'll go with Alois! :) I've already seen Alois's match when he was YOUNG. I want to see you guys play with each other, at your current age.
The video of Alois vs Italy is too short.
It would have been good to see of advantage Alois in his top level when he was younger ^^ .
Nevertheless it is not so bad.
But you are not playing serious here.. It is "TABLE TENNIS PARTY"...
alois was alittle clumsy in this match
REMATCH! REMATCH! REMATCH! REMATCH! REMATCH! REMATCH!
Alois all the way, if its serous ping pong. Jeff's however will not make it easy for Alois.
Hi Jerome,
the video at the start of the question is the video from Ballarat. :)
HAHAHAHA ITS REALLY FUNNY THE FIRST TIME I SAW THIS MATCH....HAHHAHA...WHAT AN ACT...YOU GUYS ARE FUNNY.I REALLY LAUGH HARD WHEN ALOIS DO A HIGH TOSS SERVE AND SERVE ANOTHER BALL..JEFF IS CONFUSE..HAHAHA
NICE AND VERY FUNNY
WOULD U GUYS GIVE A SUPERB MATCH SO WE CAN KNOW WHAT IS THE BEST OF U GUYS?
One thing I still don't get. How can you still keep your touch even though you haven't trained in like a decade? i can understand the other stuff but lobbing?!
When you have hit a lot of balls in your life it is difficult to forget some things.
muscle memory maybe? :)
Exactly Amekun.
Best Match Ever!
It was funny and Jeff was playing quite nice, calm and good
Yes! I really want to see a match between the two of you!
When is the next game?
Oh ho ! Fun is the main ! Funny life heathy life.
So Alois, do you think Liu Guoliang can still beat a player in the top 200 such as Zhou Qihao?
Today... probably... That is an interesting one...
Why is everyone so gungho about this? Get out there and practice!
Who cares who win really Jeff and Alois are two fantastic gentlemen. To me it does not matter who wins because i know they are both down to earth people, who are very likeable. Could not find a better pair of human beings. They should just play a match for fun though. Maybie even a team event Jeff with one amatuer pingskiller vs Alois also with a amatuer pingskilller.
Each play two singles pro vs pro, amatuer vs amatuer, pro vs amatuer and doubles. It is a crazy idea but i think it would work. It would be great to see Alois and Jeff have a serious practice match.
Don't know who would win Jeff or Alois, id reckon there would only be 2-4 points in the match at the end and it would go all the way. My idea of a team event one pingskiller with Alois and one with Jeff to me sounds good maybie even crazy. It is only an idea though other people might have an ideas as well. This is if Jeff and Alois do have a match.
It is a terrific funny match, but I thinks a lot of us would like to see a real match between our glorious mentors, no matters who wins !!!!.
Use we're faking it
