I have a sheet of OX long pips (Mo Wang 2) for my backhand, and found that my index finger kept on brushing against the pips and eventually started to peel the sheet off. To fix this, I took some scissors and cut the pips as close to the rubber as possible where my index rests. Is this legal? If not, would it be legal if I just removed the rubber from that area entirely and put my index on the bare wood?

Hi Mark,

I think it would be better to leave a gap so that there isn’t any rubber where your finger is.  If you change the pimples this could be deemed to be an uneven surface.
