This lesson teaches you the basics of how to move around the court. Table Tennis is a very fast game so it's important to learn how to get into position quickly. Follow these tips and you'll be moving well in no time.
This is very useful!!! But what if we stand on our backhand, and opponent places the ball far to forhand?????
If we jump one step to loop the ball on forhand, and the opponent blocks the ball widely to backhand, what kind of footwork we should do to counter this????
Hi LeangHeng,
If you use the side shuffle then you will still be in a balanced position to be able to push back and shuffle sideways into position for the backhand.
Probably
Thank you Al. I am sure my knee replacements will not stand the rigours of the jump step when done at speed. I will give the shuffle step some practice time and see what happens.
Hi Al,
Yes take it easy with the knee. Sometimes you just have to compromise.
oh .. it's my one .. i practice this training every day .. i love it
That is good training.
yeah it is ..
hey, I've done this at the Coburg TT Club. it sure gave me a workout. my coach puts it so wide in each corner. He said that next, he'll include short, deep and fast ones. Although, i did do quite well on my first try, so i might manage with a bit of practise! :)
thanks for this video now i'm getting good in this basic steps
Excellent Kier. Keep working on it because it is an important part of the game.
