The Ready Position
Getting in the correct position helps you develop stability which allows you to play your strokes with the correct technique. It also provides a great base for moving to the next ball.
It is also important to stand in the correct position on the court. When receiving serve you should be able to cover the whole table with just a single step. As the rally develops you can continue to position yourself so that you can cover any returns you opponent makes with the least movement.

- Keep your feet wide apart
- Bend your knees to get down low
- Keep your body compact

- Stand so that your bat would touch the end of the table
- Adjust your position depending on where your opponent plays their stroke from
