The backhand chop (like the forehand chop) is used to defend against an attacking topspin stroke. The main idea is to generate backspin to make it hard for the attacker. If you are a defender and plan to chop during most of the game, you should consider putting long pimples on your backhand. Make sure to watch the video lesson as we talk about this.
