Really enjoy the site and your DVDs. What shots and game systems do you recommend to seniors and slightly disabled players who are unable to do the proper footwork?

Hi Lanes,

I think it is a matter of seeing what you can do.  I coach a lot of players with various disabilities.  It is always a matter of pushing the players to see what they can do like any other player.  The same would apply for senior players.

Footwork is a matter of getting yourself into the best position to play your shot.  So you need to aim for the ideal and then see how far you can get.  So for example if you can't make the sideways movement, then you can think about moving across with one step or leaning as well as you can.

It may also be a matter of thinking about your tactic so that you aren't forced to move too much.  If you play more to the middle of the table your opponent won't be able to get angles to make you move wide.

Hope this helps.  Thanks for the kind words about the site.
