Hi, is it okay to stand far from the table at the start if my legs/hands are long as my footwork is quite good?
Hi Xracius,
The standard distance is where you can just reach the table. Everyone will alter that slightly to suit their game. Find a position that will suit you. It may be a little further from the table than most as long as a player can't serve short and give you too much trouble.
about receiving, is it depend on the spin and speed on the ball ? anyway, as you said that the position of receiving the serve depend on where they serve (just in the video) it's better if they serve to the backhand side as we can return it with the backhand if the ball on the backhand and also for the forehand because we have long range to get the forehand side. but, if the oppnent serve from the forehand side, it's impossible to stand to the forehand side as if they have a very fast ball on the forehand side and don't have time to get it as the backhand range is not long
what do you think about it sir ?
Yes it is better to be where the bat is in the middle of the table in general. This will mean that your body is on the backhand side of the table.
oh ok
thank you ^^
anyway, you said if we're taller we must stand a bit far from table
so, what's the ideal height for we to stand by just touch the table ?
thank you very much! it is usefull
No problems Tran.
ok
thanks a lot
