Hi !

I think I'm going to buy a Chinese rubber : Hurricane 2 or 3 for my forehand on a fast carbon  blade. Those rubbers are very hard so is it ok to use speed glue to soften it and then allow the  ´VoC to disappear after about one week ? You know, hard blade and hard rubber can't go well but if it's tuned, it's supreme.

Please let me know that answer, I have a tournament soon and I don't want to be disqualify.

Many thanks

Lan.

Hi Lan,

The speed glue effect will only last a few hours or slightly longer. So even if you use speed glue and then leave it for one week, it will be just as if you had not used speed glue.

Now the rules are in place I think it would simply be better not to use speed glue. If you want a fast rubber then take a look at the new High Tension rubbers. These are meant to be the next best thing. I would keep a close eye on any new rubbers as I'm sure that the Table Tennis companies will be working hard now to try and develop the best High Tension rubbers.
