hi,

i have a trouble hitting a sidespin top spin. being a right handed player i am able to hit the sidespin topspin with my natural sidespin action from the backhand of the opponent to his forehand. i wonder how if i could get the sidespin from his forehand to backhand using forehand (as some points in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAX6Q0E5ZVA&feature=related ).

thank  you

Hi Bhaavan,

If I read it right you need to get a fade shot happening.  To do this you need to put your wrist up.  Take a look at our lesson on the Sidespin Forehand Topspin where we will show you how to do this.

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
