im not saying that you're wrong about the placing on the loop but in these links it shows that the loops are hit bottom side of the rubber

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the feedback and the links.

After having a look at the videos I still feel that the correct contact point for a forehand topspin is in the middle or towards the top of the bat for a spinnier topspin.  On those videos it is a lttle difficult to see the exact contact point.  The best thing is to give it a try and see what feels right.

For the backhand topspin the contact point is a little further away from your hand than the centre.  Try that one out too.  See how it feels and let me know what you think.

With the second link, you are suppose to contact the ball with the middle of you bat; at least that\'s what he said.  I will ask him the next time I see him (if I remember).
