You Asked

Hello!

I have recently viewed your new lessons on YouTube about backhand topspin. Thank you very much! I was able to correct some of my mistakes. One thing that I could not understand was the proper footwork. It looked like in first video the body weight was moving from the right leg to the left and in second it was moving from the left to the rigth. But it probably just looks this way. Could you tell me what is the right way to do it?

Thanks,  Pavel.

Hi Pavel,

Thanks for your observations.

It depends on where the ball is and how much time you have.  When you don't have enough time and the ball is a little to the right you tend to move your weight onto the right and vice versa.  After the stroke though you want to come back to the balanced position.

Ideally when you have enough time you would move your weight from left to right to get the power going forward.
