hi
i am a big fan of table tennis but the place i live,there are not many people who play table tennis so i cant get my basics right. i am able to play long rallies,but when it comes to playing in a match,i cant get my strokes right.i am also having problems in playing drives to backspin. It would be really nice of you if you can help.

Hi,

Making the transition from practice to matches can often take a lot of time. You need to put more focus on the strokes during a match if you want to improve them. This may mean that your results suffer but in the long run you may become better.

To play a drive against backspin you need to brush the ball on contact and have a much more vertical stroke to lift the ball over the net. See the lesson on topspin against backspin at the following link on our website. Lesson - Forehand Topspin against Backspin. This will help you out.
