You Asked

hi,

I am using your methods of a damp cloths or sponge and cleaning my bat, but there is one problem, if the bat is wet do you use something to dry or leave it there? Would your sponge get ruined?

thanks for the help

Hi Anthony,

Don't leave your rubbers for a long period of time with water on them. When cleaning your bat, use a sponge that is just damp and the water should dry off pretty much straight away. You can always wipe any excess off either on your shorts or with a dry cloth. I normally just use my hand to wipe the rubber clean. A lot of people worry about the grease on your hands causing the rubber to deteriorate but I have never found this to cause any problems. All of the top players clean their rubbers this way during a match.
