Shrink a defense blade for attacking

Hello Coach,
I play with a blade "Nittaku Shake defense" that i have made the same size as a Butterfly maze passion (off-). This blade with Tachiness D rubber is OK for topsin at the table and defense. But i have not a good feeling in forhand smash.
May i change the blade or change rubber or more training? (50 years old and beginner level).
Sorry for my english, i speak french.

Hi Christian,
The blade and rubber will not be ideal for smashing. If you describe yourself as a beginner level, I wouldn't worry too much about changing the equipment at this stage. You are probably right with wanting to train more.
Perhaps focus more on technique of your smash and other strokes.
It is great that you are learning this game at 50. It is the perfect sport for all ages.
