How to clean the plastic cover?

Hi coach,

I have purchased a pair of plastic sheets to protect the rubber, but then I notice a problem: The plastic sheets are sticky and they take all the dust off the rubber, which is a good thing, but then, how do I clean the sheets?

I believe they are not one-use so I attempt to wash them, and after washing, the dust goes off, but how do I dry them? If I wipe them with towels or tissue papers debris will stick to them, if I leave them drying they collect dust... deseperate.

Hi Aphrodite.

Good question. I don't use them. You can just use a damp cloth to clean the rubber and then cover them with some plastic cling wrap.

Someone else that uses these will be able to help you perhaps.

Couldn't you wash them and then hang them somewhere to dry? Or use lint free cloth to dry them.

Sorry, I missed your comment that you already tried drying them.

Do they really get dirty being dried?

Personally I cut mine out of overhead transparencies, and I just chuck them and make new ones every time they get dirty.

I also encountered this problem before. What i do is after cleaning the plastic film, i get a dry piece of cloth and lightly wipe away the excess water. Afteer that i let it dry infront of a fan or just by itself.

i just wash them under a tap using my fingers to clean them, and dry them with a t towel. or you could hang them on the washing line.

i have fund the perfect way i did this yesterday fill a sink with water then squeeyou have some detergent in the sink put how many rubber films you have then drown them pull them out and dry them with a cloth or something.

this works because the detergent makes all the dust slipperry then it slides off then when you dry them there brand new, i had 1 year old rubber protectors and i bought new ones but was giving the old ones toa freind then he asked how do you clean them then i just took a punt filled a sink with water cleaned them but it didnt work then i saw detergent above the sink a just tried it now these are as sticky as brand new ones

I recently bought some streak-free dust-repellent window cleaner and wondered whether THAT might not be an effective cleaning agent for a plastic rubber cover as well. Something to try perhaps?

Can't tell you how to clean them but can tell you how to look after them. The plastics came attached to protective papers. Cut that paper same shape as the plastic cover only about 5 mm bigger then the plastic. When you take the plastic off the bat, stick to plastic back onto the paper (the shiny part). That way your plastica won't catch dust while using the bat.

You need to cut the paper slightly bigger so you can easily stick and remove the plastic. If you've already thrown out then consider keeping it next time around. Any clear, waxy paper will do.
