I've been reading here and around the internet that simply using water can clean your rubber. I was just wondering if there are any other ways and methods that can be used to maintain your rubber at its optimum level. eg. Using rubbing alcohol? Using soap? Using plastic bags to cover your racket (or rubber)? (so basically using around-the-home products)

Thank You.

Hi Yousif,

I think the best thing for your rubber is to use water and a damp sponge.  You need to ensure you keep the surface free of dirt and dust.  Covering your bat with a plastic bag or protective covering does help to stop the dust and dirt so it is useful.

Alcohol can get a bit more of the dirt out but I am not sure of the long term effects on the rubber that is why I don't use it.

The other key factor is keeping your rubber away form direct sunlight or other heat.

Hope this helps.
