I just ordered a 729 Cream Transcend rubber 2.2mm (both sides) and a Yinhe T-8 arylate carbon and juniper wood blade.

The Cream Transcend is supposedly the 3rd highest rated control rubber and the Yinhe blade is rated very favorably as well.  I was trying to get a lot of bang for my buck.

Any advice on chops and increasing my control?  by the way they didn't have 2.0 mm sponge so I had to go with 2.2 mm.  Is it possible to overcome the chopping control issues with good technique?

I could take any advice you could give on using 2.2 mm sponge.  I currently playing with 729-2 , 2.2mm (both sides).  It's a pretty hard sponge.  It is sooo fast, but I pop up early.  I could also use advice on using harder sponge.

Thanks,

Rock Norat

Hi Rock,

The 2.2 mm sponge will give you a little mroe spin and speed and a little less control.  You can overcome this by practicing more to develop better control.  You will get used to it.  How quickly will depend on how often you can hit with it.
