Tactics Template Updated
After some really helpful feedback from our users, we’ve updated the tactics template that displays when you create a new opponent. The original template was too wordy and did not highlight key information in an easy to read manner.
So to fix the problem we’ve created headings for some of the main sections and we’ve created bullet points to make the key points easier to read. We’d love it if you could create a new opponent in The PingSkills Vault and let us know what you think. Here is what the new template looks like:
My general tactics against this opponent should be:
- Should I always try to stop them attacking?
- Should I try and move them around the court?
- Should I play slow spinny topspins or faster ones?
- List all the information you c
an think of!
My opponents best serve is:
- a pendulum/backhand/reverse pendulum/tomahawk/other with sidespin/backspin/topspin
- I find this serve most difficult to return when my opponent serves it short/long to my forehand/backhand/middle.
Against me my opponent tries to:
- list the tactics they use
- Where do they like to place the ball?
- Do they like long or short rallies?
- List all the information you can think of!
My best serve against this opponent is:
- the pendulum/reverse pendulum/tomahawk/backhand/other with sidespin/backspin/topspin
- This is most effective placed short/long to their forehand/backhand/middle.
Returning serve I should try to:
- push short/flick the ball to their forehand/middle/backhand.
- Should I sometimes return long and wide to either side?
Where should I place the ball?
- My first forehand attack is most effective to my opponent’s forehand/backhand/middle
- My first backhand attack is most effective to my opponent’s forehand/backhand/middle.
- During the rally I should play to my opponent’s forehand/backhand/middle.
