Opponents in the PingSkills Vault

Opponents are a central theme of our PingSkills Vault application and the first thing you should do is create one. When you create an opponent you will be asked to rate their strengths and weaknesses and provide some initial tactics that you use against them. You can always update this information at a later time.

Opponents in the Vault

The opponents screen lists all of your opponents that are recorded in the system and shows how many matches you have played against them. You can see in the example screenshot that the playing style of each opponent is recorded. We’ve also uploaded a picture of each opponent.

From this screen you can click on an opponent and see the your ratings and tactics that you’ve recorded for them. You will also see the detail of each match you’ve played with that opponent.

The number of opponents you can record into the system will depend on your membership level.

Stay tuned for further updates. We are very excited about the Vault and are hoping to release it soon!

Great question. I actually played doubles against Timo Boll and Jörg Rosskopf at the Sydney Olympics. Unfortunately our tactics on that occasion could not make up for the difference in class!

Personally, I’d probably put something into the logbook like “stay away from his backhand and forehand and try not to serve to him.”

Playing in the Olympics must have been incredible! And you got Australia’s first Olympic win in a doubles match!

Wow so you’ve actually played against Timo Boll, is he good :P But seriously what was he like to play against? I’ve got a tactic against him: serve, then immediately move out the way and hope his topspin misses the table. You could also add screams of terror to put him off! That would be the only I could get a few points off of him.
