Pennant Final Disappointment
After our brilliant semi-final win, my team was feeling confident that we could cause an upset in the final against the undefeated Albert Park. We got off to a great start winning the first match but then things started to turn against us. Unfortunately we lost the second match and then I lost to their second player which really meant it was going to be difficult for us to win.
We fought as best we could but ended up losing the night 5-2. Since I started playing pennant again in 2007 I have been runner-up 3 times now in 4 seasons but have yet to be on the winners side. In the previous 2 finals I have played well and so haven’t felt too disappointed personally. However this final was very disappointing for me personally as I lost 2 of my 3 matches when I had only lost 1 for the entire season to that point.
Oh well, as they say – there is always next season.
