Australian Olympic Team Interviewed

Members of the Australian Table Tennis team were interviewed yesterday on ABC Radio Australia. David Zalcberg in particular was talking up the chances of the Aussies saying that in Athens they under estimated their abilities and they won’t be making the same mistakes in Beijing.

The Women’s team is made up of all Chinese born athletes who are looking to do well particularly in the doubles. In Sydney 2000 Miao Miao made the quarter finals with partner Shirley Zhou. In Beijing, this may be the best chance for Australia once again.

    Hi Zoe,

    That is a great question. The Australian Table Tennis team has never really had a nick name like the Wallabies or the Kangaroos. It really does need a name – if any one has any suggestions then leave a comment and we’ll pass them on to Table Tennis Australia for consideration.
