Structuring your Training Session

What is the most appropriate way to train?

Here are some guidelines for you to follow. While this is not the only way this is certainly one way of doing it.

2 Hour Session for Club Level Player

5 to 10 minutes - Physical warm up including stretching

5 minutes - Forehand to Forehand

5 Minutes - Backhand to Backhand

40 minutes - Footwork Training Routines
This can be done with each player having turns of 10 minutes each.
You can use any footwork routine that you think will benefit you

5 minute - Break

40 minutes - Service Training Routines
This is routines where you start with a serve and return an then practice something appropriate for you.

20 minutes - Game
You can either play free games or you can play some sort of modified game to assist you to practice the things you have been working on during the session. For example if you have been working on your forehand topspin, the modifies game could be that every time you win a rally with a forehand topspin you get a bonus point.

This structure will enable you to focus on things that are appropriate to you and improve your table tennis ability.

Tip: Always make training relevant to the game
